About us
The Regional Cancer Research Network NSW (RCRN NSW) is a collaborative network bringing together cancer researchers, clinicians, cancer services, universities and people with lived experience to strengthen cancer research across regional NSW.
People living with cancer in regional, rural and remote NSW can experience poorer outcomes and lower survival rates than those living in metropolitan areas. Increasing opportunities to participate in research and strengthening the capacity of regional health services and researchers to lead high-quality research are important to addressing these inequities.
We support regional clinicians and researchers to design, lead and deliver high-quality translational cancer research that responds to the needs of their communities. Through tailored research support, targeted funding, training and education, and opportunities to build connections and collaborations, we are helping create a stronger and more sustainable cancer research system across regional NSW.
People living in regional, rural and remote NSW can face additional challenges accessing cancer services and opportunities to participate in research. Strengthening regional research capability helps address these inequities and supports better outcomes for local communities.
Why regional cancer research matters

Our Network is built on partnerships across universities, health services and consumer organisations, combining expertise and regional perspectives to advance cancer research.
